The process of pressing metal powder to the required shape, sintering the compacts into parts and finishing of these parts are the main elements of powder metallurgy press & sinter technology. Powder metallurgy is an environment-friendly process where 95-100% of the raw material can be found in the finished part. The overall reduction in cost due to fewer processing steps makes it an attractive alternative to casting/ forging & machining. Continuous technological advances in increasing the density, tribological & mechanical properties are increasing the areas where press & sinter parts can be used.
